Let’s now take a look at how this is playing out from Blizzard’s own tweets. The patch-up jobs that are being applied by Blizard’s tech team are simply not working and it’s time we have an explanation on why this is happening. Here we are again, it’s Tuesday and the same issues are occurring. With the option to set the number of players, leveling is a lot faster offline.

The only reason I don’t play SP right now is because my highest level char is an online one… Perhaps I should forget her and start playing offline only. This is one of the reasons why I always played the original on local TCP/IP. Then played yesterday when the game (server side) crashed after which my character was rolled back… loosing the cube and some minor stuff. Ran into the servers unavailable this weekend. Seems like it would work just about as well as whatever Blizzard is doing to fix it. You ever get superstitious about the servers? I’m about ready to start sacrificing animals to. Luckily the cube quest while completed, the game will still generate the cube when approaching the halls or main line quest in Acts 3 / 4. Losing progress via rollback for instance. Some of us already have commitments and the weekends are the only luxury of #metime ….these are definitely frustrating. While there’s new players and new blood is certainly expected, a lot of the older players from 2 generations back have returned. Was kinda hoping D2:R might break the trend of, well lets just call them “disappointments” when it comes to game releases in recent years. Yesterday we posted an update taking a look at this downtime which is becoming more frequent as the days go on. Hopefully, the developers will be able to make the necessary changes as fast as possible so that more players can get to enjoying Diablo 2: Resurrected's endgame to their hearts' content.Despite various maintenance notices over the weekend and an update around 16 hours ago from a CM, we are back to where we were on Friday with the Diablo 2 Resurrected servers down again. However, it is good to see that Blizzard is staying communicative with its community.
It is very unfortunate to see fans having such a hard time enjoying a game that they were excited to get their hands on. The final approach is breaking critical game processes into smaller services, such as game server lists so that a player doing one process doesn't flood the database with various attached services as it does now. The second change is the addition of login queues to help keep the game at safe levels of population as the developers work to improve the servers to handle more players. This does hamper many leveling techniques in Diablo 2: Resurrected, but the developers have emphasized that it is merely a temporary mitigation technique. The first is rate limiting, which prevents players from opening and closing too many games that are connected to its databases to help reduce the strain on the server.
